Cataract Adjustment and Holistic Treatment.

While we have spoken at length about Iridology analysis and how it is used to detect organ imbalances in the body, the writer felt that it was important to discuss physical eye care from a Naturopathic point of view; as so many patients and clients are showing up with a high number of issues related to cataracts and early cataract formations.

Notably, cataracts are the cloudy white, sometimes spotted white formations on the eye which are supposed to be clear. But it is not possible with cataracts because it blocks the light that usually enters through the lens. If not managed properly overtime, these spotty blockages disrupt the vision and sense perception front through the eyes.

The reason why this should be monitored is because they can affect both eyes and are thus one of the main causes of age-related blindness. Unfortunately, eye imbalance related diseases affect almost half of the elderly population in the United States, and many people are wondering what are the Holistic and Naturopathic protocols to manage this.

Before getting there though, it is important to know the health implications related to cataracts: mainly that they are connected to diabetes and atherosclerosis, due to blockages and improper blood circulation. Glucose production is not synthesized properly, getting trapped in the wrong places and not making it to the lens to maintain its health. Many times, people are not actually aware that this is happening and the imbalances can continue up until the time for cataract surgery.

But there are some solutions to be aware of for this situation. As a preventative measure, Vitamin C and E combined showed a reduced risk factor for the prevention of diabetes. In addition to this, more fruit intake of apples, pears and tomatoes. The combination of these fruits are high in nutrients and in lutein, which is extracted from the tomatoes. People who eat these fruits are at less risk of developing cataracts, especially women. In terms of diet and nutrition, those who eat Plant-Based have lower rates of oxidative stress, intake more fiber, folate and protein from vegetable sources; which have great health benefits for the eye and, in-turn the lens of the eye as well. There are some natural cataract dissolving ointments out in the market as well.

The prevention doesn’t stop there though: herbology has a great impact when it comes to cataract formation. Japanese Red Pine has been linked to cataract prevention and ‘8 ingredient Pill with Rehmannia has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for hundreds for years. It has been shown that this combination has delayed cataract formation in some patients by a decade or more for diabetic cataracts. So, while many of those who have progressed cataracts do end up having surgeries for them, there are Holistic interventions when acting on prevention ahead of time. And in some cases, these treatments have even arrested and reversed and stopped the progression of cataracts. This is the principle by which Natures First Path has guided its patients, followers, readers and supporters over the last 15 years. Give thought and care to your eyes, because they are certainly needed for the length of our entire lives.
